summer drama XD

Never mind the fact there's no summer, winter, spring, and autumn here, heck, it's mostly summer here for 3/4 of the year anyway what with all the hot sun that we get. Anyhow, 2007's 'summer' spells a stream of romance-comedy drama, starting with Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, followed by Yamada Taro Monogatari, and First Kiss. HanaKimi began last week's Tuesday to which got me anxiously waiting for the subs to come out when I saw the RAW version was out on the following Wednesday afternoon. Luckily subs were out by Thursday itself and when I finally got a hold of both the RAW and subs, one can probably tell how enthusiastically excited I was. Ikuta, Oguri...plus a bunch of other really good looking guys including Shirota Yuu and Okada Masaki and Mizushima Hiro. And here I thought only HYD had a wonderful ensemble of good looking cast. I say, the drama really stuck to the manga details by getting such a cast...a reverse harem with really, really, really, good looking male cast. It's pretty much obvious that I'm smitten by them since I keep repeating how good looking they are. Lol XD

Looks aside, the next thing that comes along is can they act...I would say pretty much yes. Oguri reprises the cool role with Sano Izumi, where he's basically emo most of the time anyway (think HYD-first season). Ikuta is very much energetic and spunky as Nakatsu Shuichi, really boisterous as well. Mizushima practically charms his way through as a womanizer, lol. And Okada seems pretty alright for a newbie, his expressions are believable, though he seems a little stiff but I reckon he's still alright. And Shirota, well, he has yet to make his appearance, but just seeing him at the end credits is really, really making me anticipate the episode when he does. He's bloody good looking, which figures since he's of mixed-parentage - Spanish. I've mentioned it before, Spanish guys are bloody good looking (refer to the Spain football team in suit - jaw-dropping) so it makes sense for this guy as well XD

Before jumping onto HanaKimi, I just have to spam a lil on HYD2 cause I was watching it again and Oguri really wins me over with his smiles and all. I really like the fact he's so tall and when he smiles, you almost can't see his eyes. Now that I notice it, he reminds me of someone, which maybe perhaps is an added reason for my interest in Oguri. Oh well.








Obviously, I am still dead on with the whole Makino and Hanazawa Rui pairing. They are still my OTP, cause of the obvious chemistry they have, be it the actors themselves or the characters. It would be great to see Inoue and Oguri together in another drama...hopefully as each other's love interests. Wishful thinking? Maybe.

And the rest of the wonderful cast...

Shirota Yuu would be the 'scary' looking guy on the far right bottom corner. While Mizushima Hiro's the one second from left, below Ikuta and Horikita. And Okada would be the blond hair guy on the top row. The cute one beside him would be Yamamoto Yusuke. I actually prefer Okada with his black hair where it just falls in front of his eyes...the blond look is a little, well, creepy for me.


He really looks better with his black hair XD Oh well.

Ikuta really pwned me over with his facial expressions. In HYD2 he had the extremely dorky-nerdy look going on (his pathetic expression when crying and when he tries to get Makino to be his friend) before transforming entirely into a bloody hot model with a smug attitude. And in HanaKimi...the expression when he confronts Ashiya (Horikita Maki) who outran his time for their sprint practice, absolutely priceless.



When he stomped off in anger...it really cracked me up. Especially when their PE teacher informed him the class was still going on and he couldn't leave, but he answered with a howl of his frustration and left anyway!


And of course, Oguri Shun XD



His characters as Hanazawa Rui and Sano Izumi is really different from his real personality...cause while watching Tokyo Friend Park where he appeared in with the rest of the HYD cast, he was all smiley, hyper and goofy...like a 10 year old in a 25 year old body XD

And so, now comes to Yamada...I can't remember the countless times my heart went 'doki-doki' when Ninomiya smiled. It's crazy but his smile is so heart-melting, probably even more so than Kamenashi's...lol. Unfortunately, I can't do much justice about that statement cause the capture function of my media player is a lil haywire and I was much too drawn out earlier to carefully go back to every smiling scene of Yamada Tarou XD My bad.






The first episode of Yamada alone had me in tears and it somewhat made me rethink some of the things in my life over again. But I'm not going to ramble on that. That's the serious stuff and this blog isn't meant to for the serious, life-pressing issues and whatnots anyway XD It's all about insanity and the fun of it. Lol.
