It's funny and weird. How people never, and I mean it, never really take their own advice. Sure, they would try to reason with themselves, but in the end it seldom works. But when it comes to giving advice to others, they are able to make the best out of it and give really good reasons and all that.
And the other funny thing is that no matter how sound, how rational, how logical, how reasonable, how confident, how 'whatever' you are...you still have the down moments and at those moments, you need someone to listen and to advice or to comfort you. Like me for instance. I can give out pretty good advice at times (well, at least I think so, since no one I gave advice to, ever jumped from the 10th floor or admit themselves into the mental institution) but I can't seem to make sense of my own advice to myself. I can't take in my own advice. It's funny really.
But when I think about it, I guess it's because sometimes, when the burden feels too heavy, you just need to pass it on to someone. Hoping the someone would help you carry it for a little while and maybe somehow relieve the burden's heaviness. Sure, the person can't take that burden away, but the person can lift some weight off it before you take it back to solve it yourself. Cause really, no one can handle your burdens, you have to deal with them yourself. That's what I learnt. They can only ease it up a little for you, the rest is up to you.
Anyway, as I was saying, sometimes it's also about the need for reassurance. Cause when you doubt yourself, and you can't find a reason to like yourself, that's when someone else's point of view comes in. And with the reassurance, you'd feel better. Well, at least all this works in my case. It may differ with others though, but I think it's rather similar.
I just find it funny that I can comfort others but I can't comfort myself. Lol. But at least I have/found something or rather some people, who can make me laugh until my tummy hurts and tears stream down my cheeks. Or people who can just crack lame stuff and make me laugh or do their very best to cheer me up with the little things. Or people who just...care. Yeah. I'm a lucky goofball alright.
