Here I am on the second day of New Year, at home. As pathetic it might sound, it's not. I just didn't want to go out. This year New Year was...not at all like the New Year I used to know.
I can't even muster up a smile right now. I missed the times I had back when I was a kid, where there was endless talking, laughing, grumbling, etc...our grandma's place would be so noisy and you could see tons of shoes outside the door, kids running in and out, parents shouting and laughing, stuff like that. Now? It's less. Seriously less. And honestly, I hate that.
I know, I shouldn't look back on the past...but I can't help but miss those good times.
As we grow up, we seem to leave everything else behind. Some say it's a good thing, well I don't think so. Cause in that process, we seem to leave our inner child behind too. Things that we used to think are funny and fun now seem juvenile and boring. We don't look at things the same way anymore. Jokes that could once crack us up are now jokes that barely musters a smile. The fun then is a distant memory in the back of our minds. Where did the inner child in us go?
I still get looks from others if I do 'kiddy' things. Playing swing, playing the 'pop-pop', 'tag' game, making silly faces, etc. Is that really all-kiddy? Who died and put the 'age-tag' on stuff like these? Yeah, I'm crying for the loss of the inner child. Where did it go? How did it left? Why did it left?
Well, Happy Chinese New Year to everyone. Have fun and enjoy, hope you guys will have a wonderful year up ahead. Happy prosperous doggy year.
