This is so wrong for me to gripe about and absolutely the wrong timing and I should be working on my profile piece instead but I know I am never going to work on it until I let it out and drop it. And such fangirl rantings should not exist in my other home anyway, though it does occasionally but I try not to make it a habit out of it and let it loose once in a blue moon, that's when I get too hyped over anyway.
I can't believe when I found out that there's going to be a live-action movie of Slam Dunk. My mind's still staggering to process that information cause really, 31-manga worth of story and action, fitted into ...the very least, a 2 hour movie? That's pretty tough isn't it? Okay, so the same happened with Death Note but that's not the point, that had part one and two and the plot was pretty flawless and not choppy. I hate it when movies adapted from books or manga or comics are choppy just because they want to fit it into a 2 hour slot.
And I have to complain about the cast. If anyone were to know about the news of the live-action movie, I think I need not mentioned anymore of the current confirmed cast for the movie. Cause if I were to do so, I think I might be pelted with tomatoes. And that's the minimal idea one would get cause I think there's the extreme to that as well. To be honest, I don't think the cast fits. Especially the one guy who's been confirmed. I swear, I.will.kill., if he is casted as Rukawa Kaede...or even Sendoh Akira...or hell, Mitsui Hisashi. No seriously, him as any of them? I cannot imagine it, even though he has the whole sullen-cool look going on for him. Not a snowball's chance in hell still. I love the manga and anime heck a lot, so I am pretty serious about who's going to play who. And I am still pondering who is going to play the loud-mouthed, insane and sometimes delirious but incredibly amusing Sakuragi Hanamichi. But since my favorites (in other words 'fangirl-ed') have always been Rukawa, Sendoh and Mitsui, let's say I am incredibly particular with the casting for this three characters. I learned what a three-pointer is all because of Mitsui Hisashi and got my basic understanding of basketball because of SD (though my full understanding of basketball actually came from watching One Tree Hill, which really, comes in handy when I am bored and there's no football to watch and only NBA Live to watch), so really, I hate to see if the movie is going to be...well, not-so-good.
Rant finish. I suppose I could carry on with my assignment now.
