a different sort of fandom

So when I get all fangirlish, it's usually over some Japanese guy, most usually and specifically, Japanese JE guys. This time around, I'll go with something different. But without using the word fangirl cause for this, I truly love the music entirely with my whole heart without caring about the looks or whatever cute/funny/dorky/etc. thing he did. As in the usual gushing and spazzing. Not that I don't love JE guys for their music (some for the acting), but their attitude and looks are the other attraction factors, that I have to admit.

Let's be serious when it comes to music. My taste varies and like my friend puts in, it's universal. And my first love will always be English tunes. No matter what and when, I am still very much pulled to that and that's where my heart lies I suppose.

Currently, I am very much entertained with the likes of Good Charlotte, Fall Out Boy, Jack's Mannequin as well as Panic! At The Disco. Awesome bands. Awesome music. And somehow, even if they are not the best-looking guys around, I still think they are hot in their own way XD

Good Charlotte. The first and foremost band that drew me away from my then-love for pure pop music, as in BSB, N'SYNC and the likes. Hold On was the song that drew me to group, the lyrics were the connecting point as I was feeling pretty depressed then and was on the verge of just pulling myself away from the world. What followed soon after was a curiosity of their other songs, the discovery of The Anthem as well as Girls and Boys.

By the time their third album was released, I was completely hooked onto the guys for their lyrics' individuality and their real-life experience. Plus, the MV for Predictable was done in such a way that even up until now, I think it's one of the best MVs I have ever watched. And Billy played the guitar in the coolest manner as well =D

Fall Out Boy and Jack's Mannequin. I only came to know them upon watching OTH, which I am glad I did. I don't know why but upon the first time I heard FOB's music, I was really drawn to them. Maybe it was the music, or Patrick's voice, whatever it was, I knew I had to check out more music from them. Same goes with Jack's Mannequin although I have yet to actually obtain a copy of their album cause of my absolute laziness to order from Amazon.com.

And my current must-play on my WMP, P!ATD. This is one band I have came to know and love purely through the music, without even knowing how they looked like or who in the world they are. It started mid last year when a friend of mine had her MSN to show that she was listening to the said group, I got curious and downloaded a random song of the group. What soon followed was the rest of the songs. And I kept listening without knowing who in the world they were, just by the name Panic! At The Disco but I had no whatsoever idea or clue about them. I didn't even watch their first MV I Write Sins Not Tragedies until last month. I was that much in the dark about them.

But I slowly took more interest as a fanfic I loved referred to the group's music heck a lot. And I was surprise to know of their background and the story of the band. Interesting indeed. And surprisingly, lead vocalist(also guitarist, pianist and he plays heck a lot of other instruments as well) Urie is of the same age as I am.

Funnily enough, out of four, three of the bands have their guys with one distinguish trait that I have came to place in my guy 'should-have-traits'. Wearing eyeliners. Most of my friends think that isn't the least attractive or cool at all, but I like it all the same. In fact, it would be a huge plus for my guy to wear black eyeliner, no joke. To be honest, if one were to place Urie next to Nishikido, the choice would be Urie over Nishikido for the fact he wears eyeliner XD

Honestly though, these bands are simply awesome =D

And I am still mentally sticking torching pitch-forks into my brain for missing out on both GC's and FOB's concert in Singapore. One in 2005 and the other just recently, March 3rd 2007(the weekend I was so miserably sick...argh). If I were to miss P!ATD's (if they were to ever come down to these shores), I think I deserve to be burnt alive with fire ants and whatnots.
