A few hours ago, I was miserable. Well, not anymore. Thanks to the wonderful game of football. Just watching Spain play was enough to make all miserable thoughts and feelings go away. They are simply awesome! Awesome, amazing, incredible, wonderful, I could go on and on rambling about how good they are, but I'll just stop.
Although their first half was a little restricted by Tunisia and they missed on quite a few shots, they made it up with their second half. I loved the way they played, quick and smooth. The goals were pretty good, especially the second goal by Torres. It was just so smooth and quick-witted. Taking on the brilliant pass from Cesc and scoring it with a swift kick. Recalling his previous goals in the match with Ukraine, those were just as amazing. Hands down, my new favorite forward has got be Fernando Torres. His football skills are jaw-dropping, really. Credits also has to go to Raul, Puyol and Villa for their swift playing skills. The whole team was good actually.
Cesc was at his top form for this match, setting up Torres for the second goal and even getting a few close shots himself. That guy is improving so much! I'm so proud that he's an Arsenal player. Lol. Arsenal gave him the chance to show his skills and develop them while he was only 15+, from there onwards, there was absolutely no looking back as the guy flourished on the field with his frequently smooth and accurate passes, and the occasional awesome goals. That guy is good! Freakishly good for a 19 year old.
I didn't catch the live match unfortunately, but I now vow that I shall never, never ever, miss live matches of my favorite teams anymore. Watching the online version truly reeked. The frequent irregular pauses, plus those annoying commentating by a so-called, well known sports giant broadcaster. I swear, those commentators ought to be fired. Talking crappy nonsense that sounds pretty biased and judmental is bad enough, but to call the players by the wrong name? That's the worst crime a football commentator could make! I was miffed that they had the players mixed up, not once but a few times! Ugh.
But really, I find the commentators for this World Cup are a little annoying. Just recently for one of the matches (forgotten which was it), I had complained to my brother about the very much nonsensical comments from the commentator. It was not even related much to what was going on the field! Good grief. And the commentator was telling all his personal thoughts about the players, the team...and there I was wondering, who the hell cares what you think when it's not even close to being logical and reasonable? It was as if the guy was having a one-way convo with himself. Not with the viewers. He even had the decency to shout out 'goal' when it was clear that the shots weren't even on par for a goal. Personally, I rather much prefer to listen to the regular EPL commentators, Martin Tyler and Andy Gray, who, gives a much better and enthusiastic commentating. For football, commentating is an added must-have. So does the cheering sounds from the fans. Without them, the game's enthusiasm dies a little.
I love football. I love football! Never again will I ever say that it's ridiculous to have hell knows how many guys out on the field, fighting over one ball, when you can give each of them a football and they can score all they want then. Lol. That's what I used to say before coming to know the joy of football.
