I was watching a news clip of the recent fan meeting slash autograph session of Shinhwa, which had the six of them randomly placed at six different locations, and I noted a few scenes where I couldn't help but wonder. There were a few of the fans who went absolute hysterical...and I mean hysterical. They were crying and mumbling through their tears, barely able to look at the guys in the eye. So it got me thinking, why cry? Shouldn't it be jumping and screaming and grinning out of over-hyped joy?
I mean, it's not exactly stupid to cry at meeting 'the guy of your dreams'...but it's a little, well odd to say the least. Really, I don't find it stupid, I mean, well finally getting to meet a guy(or guys) whom you've only manage to watch from afar or on screen, is something very much overwhelming indeed. So I could only figure out the reason that they cry is that they are too overwhelmed by their feelings of joy and relief that they finally get to meet their dream star, or whoever. Sort of like it's unbelievable that they are actually meeting him/her and are actually just being there, right in front of the star, and actually being able to converse a sentence or two. However, I won't deny that the sight was amusing to watch.
It got me thinking, what would I do if I were to meet a star, or rather, the 6 guys themselves. Honestly...I think I'd be all tongue-tied and only be able to muster a smile and not a word would leave my lips. Come on, when my first 'serious crush' walked past me back in high school, my heart skipped a million beats and my breath was caught in my chest while I couldn't keep my eyes off him. Well, actually, come to think of it, I could have took my eyes away but I just didn't want to. Lol. Still, unlike others who desire a hug and/or autograph or take a picture with their favorite stars, all I actually would like would be a single smile. Just one smile, directed at me, sincerely from the heart. That's it. Just a smile. I once told my friend that, to which she asked if I was really sure that's all that I'd want, I thought about it for a while before replying her again. Sure, it wouldn't hurt to have a hug and/or autograph from them but when it comes to down to it, the smile would mean more to me than a hug or a signature, or a picture even.
Like I always say, I'm a sucker for smiles. To me, a smile is the best feature that anyone and everyone has. Seriously. A person who looks shabby and dirty would actually look decent when he smiles. A person who looks like she would bite anyone who crosses her path would actually look nice when she smiles. And so on. I've seen it before, people whom I've had a not-so-nice first impression, automatically changes to a different person when they smile. Just one smile....sincerely from the heart with no fakeness to it, is simply one of the beautiful things that one's eye catches. And I honestly think that the word 'smile' itself has got to be one of the most beautiful word in the English language. Just seeing the word 'smile' is enough to make me smile. Odd, but I like the reaction that it triggers.
