dental appointment: second story

I hate dental appointments. I really do. I hate visting the dentist. And it irks me to know I will most likely be visting the dentist, or rather the orthodontist, once every month. Yes, the orthodontist. Meaning, braces. I am going to get braces. Yay! Not.

I was dreading my appointment with the orthodontist today which brought upon a very depressed mood on me ever since yesterday night. Sigh. Went there, waited for over 50 minutes from my scheduled appointment time, proceeded to a room where there were 6 dentist/orthodontist there. My biggest nightmare, thank you. It was bad enough to face one, but to face six? Hell must have a place reserved for me down there complete with a box of chocolates and flowers.

One started poking around my mouth as the rest observed and discussed. I now know how it feels to be a bug under a microscope, or a frog ready to be dissected, or some white lab rat under observation. Don't get me wrong, they were all really nice. One of them, a lady, asked me what I'd like to do. I replied with a question with my own, asking her what does she think I should do. She proceeded to tell me that they could re-aligned both my teeth and jaw orthodontically without going surgical. Bascially, extract a few tooth up and down and then place the braces in, taking away my freedom of eating and leaving me miserable for the next 2 years, mimimum. Well, she didn't say the last few sentences, but that's how it's going to be.

So yes, the verdict is I have to have braces. It will not only re-align my teeth to make it straight, organized and nice, but also re-aligning my lower jaw as well. Joy. Go ahead. Laugh. I know of the few people who would laugh at this news. Oh well.

A note for Cheneille...I hope you'll see this before you leave...Take care and don't be scared alright? You will do fine and soon you'll be having loads of fun (and maybe end up forgetting me, lol) over there. So breathe, relax and just enjoy the next 2(?) years of your life in Australia. And whenever you need a pal, I'm always here, just email or use MSN, or if you're feeling rich you could always call. Remember my adorable, adorable voice and smile (hahaha) whenever you feel sad, alone, etc. even when you're happy. Hehe. *Hugs*
